What about this series makes you recommend it? Do you think it appeals to a large/wide range audience or has a more specific target? What was the best scene/character/etc. you liked about the series? What are you hoping to see as the series continues to air?

I'm a fan of Crystal Chappell, who plays the main character Gina, but is also producer/director of the series. That's how i first heard about this webseries.
Venice focuses on the life of Gina Brogno -- a single, gay, self-made interior designer -- living and working in Venice Beach, California. The plot follows Gina’s human experience in connection with her various love interests, brother Owen, father The Colonel and myriad other characters that make up Gina’s network of relationships.
Venice is about life, and relationships. The main character is openly gay, yes, but it's not a series about being gay, it's a series about being human. i believe it will appeal to a large audience, but will be particulalrly special to the GLBT community around the world. To see ourselves portrayed so realistically, without so many of the stereo types is fantastic, and rare.
I really love Ani, Gina's ex girlfriend. She is strong, but still so vulnerable.
This series will give it's fans beautiful cinematography, great dialogue, and realistic characters. Entertainment as it should be.

Awesome and thanks for the info! Have you just watched the series or participated in any of the forums or other experiences associated with the web series? I was curious if the fact it was a web series took away from the feel of the show, but from your last few sentences, it sounds like the format does not affect the story at all.

Thank for the recommendation (already I can tell this will be a suspense driven show from the web URL :P

Are there a lot of references made in the show that not being British would hamper my understanding of the reference or does the story transcend the locale? I ask as that is something that I am always curious about with any show/movie and the fact web series have a better position to be international (not sure i am explaining what I mean very well) than many other mediums... I wonder how some stories translate to people across a wide variety of cultures and geographies...

Is this an older series or one still being made?

PS - I am trying to collect web series associated with transmedia story-telling -and cross-platform delivery structure - does this series have additional sources to visit or that are part of the story or just the web series?

Of course, I have to recommend The Scare Game, seeing as I work on it. But I'd recommend it even if I didn't. Great writing, acting, directing, one of the best looking web shows I've seen (high production value).

My other favorite at this point is Gold. More great writing and acting. Very funny.

I'm a fan of Space Hospital.

http://www.youtube.com/user/SpaceHospital

It's a scifi comedy with special affects on par with that of MST3K.

I'm a bit of a reluctant fan because the comedy timing- it's almost there. I don't know if its the editing or the acting, but it's clear that the crew that puts this show together really has their heart in it. The concept is awesome and I look forward to more episodes. I'm rooting for them all the way.

BTW, I'm the editor for The Variants (another web series with a heart of gold).

The reason I stated it was a British web drama, is because all recent webisodes I have seen recently haven't been. I don't believe cause it's British it makes it any better, it was just good from my point of view in recognising actor/ress. http://www.canyousaveher.com/home.html

There has only been 1 epi of Venice aired the 2nd is on the 18th. The emphasis of the story is about the main lead character who just happens to be Gay. The storyline unfolds around her, be it with her father who has a hard time with her being gay, her brother who she has a strong bond with and her aunt who is a spiritualist. Throw in some lovers old and new and friends with quircky likes BOOOOOTS. You will get drama, comedy & romance. www.venicetheseries.com
